Services and Fees

Effective January 1, 2024

 

Pre-Executive Search: 

·   School Board presentation (free)

·   Board’s identification of changes, if any, to the Executive Search Process identified below.  

·   Consultants provide Proposal for Search Services.

·   School Board approves Proposal.

 

Consultants’ Executive Search Services:  

Facilitation of planning meeting with School Board to customize search process to District’s needs and preferences (meeting to identify timeline, stakeholder engagement during Phases 1 and 4, advertising venues, application process, etc.). 

Phase 1: Engagement of stakeholders in the development of the “School District and Superintendent Profile” (District’s strengths, opportunities for growth, and priority characteristics for next superintendent) for the purpose of advertisement and recruitment.

o   School Board. 

o   Surveys customized to specific School District groups (i.e., administration, teachers, support staff, students, parents, residents, school board, etc.).

o   Facilitation of focus group, inclusive of representatives from stakeholder groups.  (See additional engagement options below.)

Phase 2: Identification of a pool of viable candidates via widespread recruitment.  

o   Widespread recruitment via consultants’ extensive network.

o   Thorough review of applicants’ credentials, experience, references, backgrounds, etc.

o   Facilitation of virtual screenings and recordings with viable candidates.

o   Recommendations for first round interview candidates.

Phase 3: Assistance with the development and facilitation of a comprehensive first round interview process. 

o   Assistance with the identification of questions, onsite writing sample, rating methods, etc., and coordination of schedule, etc.)

o   Assistance with the identification of finalists.

o   Thorough final review of references and background checks.

Phase 4: Assistance with the development and facilitation of high quality final interviews and selection of finalist. 

o   Assistance with the identification of questions, rating methods, and coordination of schedule, etc.)

o   Facilitation of focus group, inclusive of representatives from stakeholder groups.  (See additional engagement options below.)

o   Assistance with the identification of finalist, preparation for contract offer, election date, press release, etc.

Phase 5:  Onboarding support for the Superintendent for one year from his/her election.

o   Meet monthly and 24/7 availability

o   Facilitate “Team of Ten” Governance Workshop

Throughout Search

o   Confidentiality

o   Coordination of meetings with the Board during each Phase.

o   Communications with applicants and School Board, and website postings for public.

 

Executive Search Fee: 

10% - 12% of current superintendent’s salary plus reimbursement for travel, lodging (if needed), and advertising.  (Actual fee is based upon factors such as time of year, district location, expedited search process, and other factors that could limit the candidate pool, and School Board’s customized preferences.) 

 

Added Stakeholder Engagement Options (additional fees):

 

Facilitation of additional Stakeholder Input into development of Superintendent Leadership Profile:

 

·       More than one focus group - $500 per group (i.e., teacher group, parent group, etc.).

·   Virtual or in-person community forum to present results of the stakeholder input - $1,000.

·       Other customized options identified by the School Board – Fee to be determined.

 

Facilitation of Stakeholder Input Into Board’s Selection of the Finalist(s):

 

·       Additional focus groups to meet with each finalist - $500 per group (i.e., teacher group, parent group)

·   Forum for the finalists to introduce themselves, allowing for questions from the audience - $1,500.

·       Other customized options identified by the School Board – Fee to be determined.
